So many years

Full of pain and sacrifice

No one seemed to realise

Had to compromise what I believed in

So many times

That I’ve watched my dream’s demise

But the writings in the sky

Made me keep my head up and keep singing

I carry on

And all those nights

Of ambition and desire

Guided by an inner fire

That would keep me warm and raise my spirit

The road is long

And it’s full of bitter trials

Full of stugles and denial

But undying strength lies deep within me

There is no try

There is only do or die

Raise my fist and touch the sky

And there’s nothing that will stand in my way

I’ve paid the price

And it’s left me scared for life

But no matter how they try

I will not give up, I’ll do it my way
