Sitting back I scratched my head

Thinking about the life I lead

Remembering what my mama told me

And all them things my daddy said

At five or six it was in one ear and out the other

Now I’m grown into a man

Something son an older brother

It’s just a story of a Florida cracker farmboy

Redneck nation’s how I live

I sit and ponder every day

Do I hang it up put it on the shelf

Sit back mad

Point a finger at my own self

My redneck ways of life

Yeah, they troubled me at times

Smoked a little maryjane

And I drank a ton of moonshine

Every now and then

I find myself off the beaten path

Looking in my rearview

I control my own wrath

I drank by myself on many lonely midnight rides

But what you’ll never take for me hot is my daddy’s pride

Well, it made me who I am today

Country pride I’m proud to say

Every step I take today

And thank the Lord for my daddy mama sister my girl

Without my daddy’s pride struggle in this crazy world
