Тускло светится оконце над ленивою рекой,

Вся земля теплом прощания согрета.

Но придет злодейка осень с дождевою пеленой

И погубит бабье лето.

Над усталым моим прошлым шелестят года листвой,

Бродит память угасающего света.

Но лежит козырной картой над измотанной душой

Золотое бабье лето.

Будет ночь сырой, холодной, с сединою в облаках,

Догори, любовь, лучиной до рассвета.

Мне осталось для молитвы и прощения в веках

Золотое бабье лето.

Тускло светится оконце над застывшею рекой,

Вся земля теплом прощения согрета.

И напрасно кружат ветры над моею головой —

Не задуть им бабье лето.

The window dimly glows over the lazy river,

The whole earth is warmed by the warmth of farewell.

But the villainess autumn will come with a rain veil

And ruin the Indian summer.

Years of leaves rustle over my tired past,

The memory of the fading light wanders.

But lies like a trump card over the exhausted soul

Golden Indian summer.

The night will be damp, cold, with gray hair in the clouds,

Burn down, love, with a torch until dawn.

I have left for prayer and forgiveness through the ages

The window dimly glows over the frozen river,

The whole earth is warmed by the warmth of forgiveness.

And in vain the winds circle over my head -
