I still remember when my mom and dad used to say

I woke up early on my born day

I‘m grown, it‘s a blessing, the essence of adolescence

Leaves my body

But I’m stressing

Cuz I know it’s gone

Graduated, but still living at home

Need to learn just how to live on my own, own

Remember them high school girls

Who had they goals set

I see ‘em around

They still ain’t met they goals yet

22, and now they dealing with that drama

Most all the bad chicks turned into baby’s mamas

Right after graduation

Lady, what happened to your dreams

You went from being the homecoming queen

To a queen coming home

With no throne

Or a king

But a child

It’s been running through my dome

The urge just to figure out

How to get back to when

We had it all figured out

So, is this the end of our fate
