Через ночку на восток

В лунном серебре

Гнал коней Илья-пророк

Выкупать в заре

Кони громами подков

Будоража высь

В даль заоблачных лугов

Бешено неслись

Кони гривами ветров

Дыбили моря.

В пенье ангельских хоров

Ширилась заря.

Рвал охапки звёзд пророк

На земь их кидал.

Сотрясая наш мирок

Буйно хохотал

Through the night to the east

In moon silver

Ilya the prophet drove horses

Redeem at dawn

Horses thundering horseshoes

Exciting heights

Into the distance of sky-high meadows

furiously rushed

Horses with maned winds

Dumped the seas.

In the singing of angelic choirs

The dawn spread.

The prophet tore armfuls of stars

He threw them on the ground.

Shaking our world

laughed wildly
