Day after new years and I’d had a few beers

Maybe I was looking for something to do

At the Silver Dollar the all-girl band hollered

And I stood a bit taller ‘cause I was standing next to you

It felt like I knew you, it felt like you knew me too

We had it locked up threw away the key

But now this cloud it ain’t lifting and I feel like I’m drifting

Down a river of your tears and out into the sea

And it leaves me in a rough place

Me with the disgrace of leaving you alone

Or give you a tissue or make it go away

Now it’s almost two years later feeling like a failure

Feeling like a man that I don’t wanna be

And from sunny September to this dismal November

It’s been a challenge to remember where I left my dignity
