Убежал - Маски? Долой!

Стоит утёс, на нём маяк,

А он внутри себя бубнил.

Какой он всё же молодец.

Как обманул весь этот мир.

И не касаются его

Конфликты и падения акций.

Взрывы в городском метро —

Ему их можно не бояться.

Там жил смотритель маяка.

Ему так мало было нужно:

Видеть море с высока,

И стаи птиц снаружи.

Вряд ли сможем мы понять

Мотивы его действий.

Но он стремился убежать

От денег, шума и болезней.

Но год от года океан

Волнами грыз основу скал:

Раздался грохот, и утёс

Стал осыпаться.

И сказал

Себе смотритель — «Был я глуп,

Пытаясь убежать от бед.

Я в страхе прожил свою жизнь,

Теперь покой найду на дне».

There is a cliff, there is a lighthouse on it,

And he muttered inside himself.
