Don Ramón

era un bardo

de taberna

medio sabio

medio poeta

Don Ramón

le hacía a su acordeón

cantar.

Era el alma

de aquel antro

de fantasmas

solidarios,

Don Ramón

llenaba el corazón

el bar.

Pero el alba,

cuando el vino

se olvidaba del olvido,

Don Ramón

tocaba el vals que un amor

fatal le inspiró…

Un, dos, tres…

Sus ojos lloraban

cada vez

que todos cantaban, cantaban,

cantaban

el coro de su canción…

Y un catorce

de febrero,

entre sones

de bolero,

Don Ramón

sintió que su acordeón

calló.

Abrazado

al silencio

en el acto

cayó al suelo,

Don Ramón

fundió a su acordeón

murió.

Y doblaron

las campanas

por el bardo

de la tasca,

Don Ramón

se fue como aquel amor

que le traicionó.

Nunca más

la triste alegría

que aquel vals

que todos pedían, pedían,

pedían que tocara Don Ramón.

between sounds

felt his accordion

callus.

in the act

he fell to the ground,

Mr Ramon

melted down to his accordion

he died.

and they folded

The bells

by the bard

of the tavern,

Mr Ramon

it went like that love

who betrayed him.

Never more

the sad joy

that that waltz

that everyone asked, asked,

They asked Don Ramón to play.
