A hundred steps back

Only stumble once

To forever loose track

Dreams go up in smoke

Many get trapped

When all you want is light

Your whole world’s pitch-black

I feel my feet running but I’m getting nowhere

What started out as a dream is now a nightmare

What was a friendly reflection

Is now a cold stare

So in desperation I send up my last flare

It glistens in the night

Then chokes on the air

My last ounce of hope just died in despair

Now I’m left in the dark and that’s unfair

A lot can be mended but a heart you can’t repair

I’ve shed a million tears

Gained a billion scars

Only thrown two dice

But lost a trillion stars

My letters my words my pages my bars

My heart bleeds my lyrics

So now it’s raining shards

I let the joker spin the wheel

And deal all the cards

Blinded by the lights

I was lead down the wrong path

Where wounds never heal

And pain will never pass

I’ll stay forever broken

Like shattered class

I wear my heart on my sleeve

But keep a lock on my soul

Dreams rest on my heart

So it can’t collapse

My minds holding on

But I can’t relax

The class-stairs I’m climbing

Just might crack

Cos everything can disappear

Not realise the facts

Smoke’s never thin
