Difforme

Mais toujours lui est resté

Comme il dessinait

Comme il résistait

Miracle, il en est sorti

Il a réussi à tenir

Et à venir à Paris

Near Auschwitz

my father was growing up

He was a Polish Jew

At the Fine Arts in Krakow

He dreams of Paris

And then the war surprised him

They took him at 19

He did during these five years

Nine different camps

A man

He was a man

Deformed

In his person

Whose innermost

was still scared

But he always remained

The sense of beauty

They told me when it all came crashing down

As he drew

As he resisted

Miracle he came out

He managed to hold

And to come to Paris

Paint and give life
