Tiens, se dit le lac Saint-Sébastien

Je ne comprends pas ces humains

Ils sont si pleins de turbulences

Je crois qu’ils ont peur du silence

Ils s’imaginent réfléchir

Moi, je sais c’que ça veut dire

Oh, je leur expliquerais bien

Qu’il faut qu’il n’y ait pas un souffle

Ou bien l’image se boursoufle

On ne distingue plus le fond

Le ciel est comme un viux chiffon

Mais près de moi vit une humaine

J la vois quand elle se promène

Et si parfois elle parle haut

Elle connaît la langue de l’eau

Tiens, se dit le lac Saint-Sébastien

Elle dit que nous sommes cousins

Que les humains sont très liquides

Mais ils ne sont pas translucides

Où sont leurs truites, leurs brochets?

Il faut croire qu’ils les cachaient

Sans doute ils n’y comprennent rien

L’eau qu’ils possèdent, ils la salissent

Ils y jettent leurs immondices

Et quand elle est bien polluée

Disent qu’il faut la purifier

Mais près de moi vit une humaine

Je la vois quand elle se promène

Et si parfois elle parle haut

Ils sont étranges, ces humains

Quand ils détournent des rivières

Ils sont parfois très en colère

Si elles vont regagner leur lit

Après avoir tout englouti

Je crois qu’ils ne font pas le lien

Entre toutes les eaux du monde

Moi, je sais qu’elles correspondent

Et qu’en la plus petite flaque

Il y a l’espérance d’un lac

Mais près de moi vit une humaine

Et si parfois elle parle haut

Ils se battent comme des chiens

Ils sont chiens quand ça les arrange

Et puis se prennent pour des anges

Comme si d'être ce qu’ils sont

Leur donnait un mauvais frisson

Ils s’improvisent magiciens

Ils déracinent et ils bétonnent

Ils font le vide et puis s'étonnent

Que les saisons aillent de travers

Et que s'étende le désert

Mais près de moi vit une humaine

Je la vois quand elle se promène

Et si parfois elle parle haut

Elle connaît la langue de l’eau

Je refroidis, l’hiver s’en vient

Bientôt se formera ma glace

Dessous, j’aurai toute la place

Pour moi le gel est bienvenu

Je n’aime pas les arbres nus

Je vais rêver à ces humains

Ils seront encore là, j’espère

Quand mes eaux redeviendront claires

Et que se poseront les huards

Pourvu qu’ils n’aient pas de retard

Et que près de moi cette humaine

Ait traversé l’hiver sans peine

Qu’elle vienne avec les oiseaux
