If I saw you there

I’d say that I was unreasonable

Would it be the old familiar?

Is it inevitable?

You came to me in my sleep

Securing me in stories

Would it be the old familiar?

They’ll stay with me until the morning

Can’t I be your little sparkle?

I’m chasing my words away

I have the Peter Pan syndrome

That is getting in the way

Can’t I be your firecracker

What is it I want to say?

I wonder will this get better

Maybe yes but not today

I certainly miss the fall

I do I do

Then I think what I had

What I had with you

I sort out my insides

And I become something new

Molded into a mouth

To practice to tell the truth

Could it be the old familiar?
