Whatever book I choose, it’s not at all the same

Remember choosing it, it’s not the one I read

I did my best to choose, thoroughly and with care

But it is not the one, it’s not the one I read

It’s not the same I read

To put the book away, would be a big mistake

But when I turn the page, it makes me feel afraid

Though I am glad it’s mine, though it’s always the same

And that is different, different all the time
