I come out in your night sleep

Like the silence in the street

I withdraw, if you come back

Hoody on and fade to black

You strike the bell and bring to heel

The offspring of a lousy deal

Forced into line in every sense

You cage the bird in ignorance

I create, you destroy, you made me the shadowboy

You took the ground, you cut my view

Brought up walls i can’t break through

They swallow my identity

Your walls became a part of me

Your barking voice, your caustic smell

Made me a creature in a shell

I’ve locked myself up like a fist

What survives deserves to live

I found shelter at the darkened corners

Learned from survivors like rodents and crawlers

I became familiar with marten and fox

Allied in the shadows between all the blocks

They warned me to run before i die out

Follow the dead rails and don’t turn around

Follow them till the dead-end

And dive into the woods on the left hand

You can trace but you can’t destroy the footprint of a shadowboy
