Как почувствовал он сердцем вышел срок!

По лесам да по курганам — путь далек

Да по рекам на ладьях — долгие дни

Из родных дубрав — до Северной Земли

Белым камнем по спиралям да кругам

Птицей-соколом к скалистым берегам

Из березовой, берестяной Руси

Весть из дома, ветер, ты мне принеси!

Как могучий ствол везли на лошадях

Буйно рвал рубахи ветер во полях

Средь седых камней, хранящих пыль веков

Гость молчал — не любит Север лишних слов.

Черствый хлеб жевал, водою ключевой

Запивал, вставал с утра вместе с зарей

Не с женою спал, а с ясною луной

В Небеса глядел, где вечен звезд покой.

А во светлый день — не покладая рук

Он работал — по просторам гулкий стук.

Плыл — как ворожил, сплетаясь в странный лад

Завсегда на тайны Север был богат.

И рождался лик под Небом средь ветров

Средь камней да ярых жертвенных костров.

Знал лишь Велес Мудрый тот заветный миг

Когда Дух его во образе возник!

И взглянули в мир глубокие глаза

Слава Велесу!

— одно в тиши сказал

Поклонился, отложив острый резец

Завершен был труд, работе всей конец.

И ушел он — по траве да по камням

Провожали его ветры по полям

И прощался с ним край Велеса навек

Вдаль смотрел Бог;

уходил вдаль человек!

When his Spirit appeared in the form!

And looked into the world with deep eyes
