Пережить эту долгую зиму

Hе хватает ни слез, ни сил.

Я забыл горем горькое имя,

Память клочьями износил.

Догорать за спиной оставил

Переправы, гулял вразнос:

Мой горячий исток

Декабрями издох, —

Он замерз.

Погадай на сплетеньи линий —

Обещай колесо дорог.

Целовать глаз соленый иней,

Оживить молвой Сухой Лог.

Испугаться упряжки грозной —

В жребий выпала борозда:

Уходить в полный рост

Вереницей угроз

В образа.

Заарканить язык елея

В грубый узел сырой узды.

Только Солнце в безверьи греет

И к вершинам ведет мосты.

Торопись окунуться в прорубь

И морозу расправить грудь:

Оголить удаль плеч,

Родниками облечь

Дрожь округ.

Загони мозг строптивый в кровлю

Дожидаться разлива рек.

Или веку сподобься ровней —

Одевать в камень сны калек.

В смуту жаждал иной награды —

Принимай плеть и залп свинца

У глубокого рва,

Где породистый нрав

Ждал венца.

Огненный росчерк в небе настиг

однажды,

Огненный прочил повелевать пером.

Звездные рощи звали в объятья: наш ты, —

Опален!

Звонкое имя Ветер принес орлами,

Лопнуло вымя оберегать хлеба.

Пеной ковыльной в бой закипало пламя

В погребах.

Я это видел,

я все запомнил…
