Quand une femme entre en prison, on lui fait prendre un bain

dans du désinfectant pendant une demi-heure, on la rince,

elle voit le docteur, on la vaccine, on l’enferme… et elle attend

Elle a ouvert la porte du taxi, elle se glisse sur la banquette arrière

Elle donne l’adresse d’un hôtel en dehors de la ville

Elle défait son foulard, le chauffeur a d’mandé

Si elle connaissait quelqu’un là-bas

«Je ne connais personne"elle a dit et puis, le motel, la porte derrière elle

Et puis, elle collerait son nez à la vitre à attendre

Puis, elle court vers le lit, décroche le téléphone, tourne le dos à la fenêtre

Et toi, tu imagines les mots, forcément des «je t’aime»

Des «je t’aime"forcément

Elle retourne se coller à la vitre, et puis, elle croise les mains sur elle

Et encore une fois, un déluge s’abat sur un parking

Au-dessus du motel, les nuages s’amoncellent

Comme s’ils allaient rester l

Above the motel the clouds are gathering

As if they were going to stay there
