Tonttu istuu iltaa kanssa joulun enkelin

Kovin mietteissään on heistä kumpikin

Ensi yönä tähdet kertoo joulun sanomaa

Tähtivöinen taivas sataa lunta hiljalleen

Kun tonttu valmistautuu matkalleen

Enkeli vain vierellään hän kulkee maailmaa

Silloin syttyy tähti kirkas ylle taivahan

Sen valo kattaa koko maailman

Tonttu tuntee jumalten nuo käskyt rinnassaan

The starry sky is slowly snowing

As the elf prepares for his journey
