Things you might wonder, never knowing why

I was lost in the back and beyond

When my girlfriend, wife to be

Said the thing is James, you might think it’s strange

But you’re not the one for me

Well you can kick and scream, and gouge and crawl

When your self-esteem is flattened

Your whole life can change in a second

And you don’t even know it’s happened

Things you might notice on a passing train

Things you might notice as you feel insane

Things you might notice as your train goes by

Things you might wonder, never knowing why

You know the indisputable truth

Is that we’re born into life of own

And then it seems to be the case

That we’ll all strive to make a home

So

You can keep yourself safe and warm

But your world may make no sense

When you offer your tender underbelly

To the sword of experience

Things you might notice on a passing train

Things you might notice as you feel insane

Things you might notice as your train goes by

Things you might wonder, never knowing why

Yeah, when man’s control of the world is shattered

You might think at times like these

That the arrogance of mankind

Would have sunk with the ship of dreams

Ship of dreams, and

When the illusion of safety is shattered

Well, there’s only one thing to do

That is have the belief that something, someone, somewhere

Is out there waiting for you

We seem to want everything

Think we get nothing and that’s when things get tough, but

Between everything and nothing

What is the something that might just be enough?

Be enough

When reality bites with its fangs of ice

And the worst is that it’s closest
