Every evening

As I put my toys away

I think about what I’ve done today

It’s nothing

I’ve done nothing

Accomplished nothing

Rather carefully

I pick up the jigsaw I’ve been working on

Or rather staring at

Make up your mind you fool

Tick tick goes the time you fool

You’re out of line you fool

Tick tock goes the time

I trudge back to my cryo-tube post-meal

But no matter how much bread I just don’t feel

Maybe next few days they’ll release me

Cut me from my strings puppeteer

Putting blocks in

Labeled baskets

I can see their eyes behind reflective glass

Staring at me

Laughing at me

I hook the plastic tube to my neuro-dock

Ready for my daily dose, oh, let 'em gawk
