I swear I’m telling the truth but you were living in doubt

I guess the future wasn’t something you were willing to talk about

I gave you one of my jackets as we walked home in the rain

I told a pretty bad joke but you laughed anyway

I guess it didn’t take a lot to win your heart over that day

So what if everyone’s staring I ain’t got nothing to hide

I’d take a trillion bullets to keep my ego alive

And I would donate all my organs just to keep you satisfied

And when they bury my body they’ll say how lucky they were

For such a beautiful human to have been sharing the earth

And they’ll carve my face in tombstones with the wrong date of birth
