Desert and swirl sleepless

Shivering adrift as star scattered sky and sea

Shattered mirrors reflect confusion in countless echoes

Lost in abysses of fraction distance and love

From the corner of my eye

I sense that which can’t be sensed as myself

Known to my only by the absence of Certitude

A ghost haunting the pilgrimage outside of heart

Longing and belonging, witness and the seen

Still as if grasping for their own names

As they escape their very lips

And a billion axioms flutter about Moloch’s fire

Like grey lifeless planets circling a scourging suns

Screaming for wahdat al-wujud

Desert stars swirl sleepless

Sinking deep into drifting sky and sea

Reaching the mouth of midnight

That has become an opened shell

And in aeonic distress therein

Shall the strangest of pearls be shaped

(And suddenly)

In the absence of God is where the heart of God is found

That in this very moment, is pierced by satanic light

Like a terrible secret fallen from Infinity’s tongue
