I feel

Off-beat and nervous

The strobe lights are shaking bright

My lungs are clawing

For air I can’t seem to find

Everyone else moves in time

My breath wavers

My eyes avert from

A gaze that mirrors mine

And then the voices fade

And all that’s left is music to play

And then you grab me

And pull me on the floor

I start to ignore

The thoughts I’ve been thinking

Of low self-worth

Along to all of the words

A crowd starts forming
