Today's Extinguished -

Nothing is absolute

The reserved and resolute,

For now will sit and wait

Questioning all the choices they make

With preoccupations of a life still yet to be lived because

Their time it ticks away

With questions unanswered

Weighing down their graves

So tonight we’ll fear this

Tonight we’ll fix this

We’re living for tomorrow

Today’s extinguished

I know that life is hard

It could have been better

Looking towards the backseat

When the road ahead is clear now

So move ahead, move ahead

Let your accidents fade and press on towards tomorrow

And extinguish yesterday.

Watching, waiting, wishing, slaving

Lying, trying, giving, and taking

Finding ways of fitting in but

Never expressing the things on our hearts

Till our hearts stop!

The chance to see through sickness

With promise of a greater indifference

I’m on my way

How can we grow when we’re always asking why

The past is gone

It’s time to extinguish

Trust in tomorrow…
