there’s a train

leaving soon

and it has space

for me and you

from the city to the suburbs

getting away from the traffic

it’s quiet in the evening

and nobody’s trying to hurt you

cause we have heard

about the fights

and we are

not amused

we will follow a familiar road

and fill the hollow of our souls

with a child

In a state of

waiting for god

or something closer

a second child

a newborn kitchen

a flickering light

from the sun, shaking up us, we’re awake

but trying to live in a dream

moldering life from a lie

telling us all will be wonderful

and nobody’s going to die

and we can just work in our garden

saving our plants from the flies

but saving the world will be harder

we’re keeping our fingers crossed

while painting the fence

and using dental floss

it’s a good ride, airbag safe
