I shot at the sun with my hand today,

It’s been a hundred days since we’ve seen the rain

It’s a sad sorry state of affairs we’re in

Living in sin but acting innocent

Rough hands bleed

Dying on my feet

No way to live

Hard to believe

Sunburn the blame on the backs of slaves

We can’t have it both ways while we eat the cake

Built the whole god damn state on a peasant wage

So much at stake in this backwards state

No time for swine

Or coyote antics

Avoid the leeches mouth

And serpent tactics

Dust dancing in the sun both burning my eyes

Singing songs of hope cringing from despair
