Ik zie je nog steeds maar alleen in m’n dromen

want je bent er niet meer, nee alleen in m’n dromen

ik hoop dat het daarboven veel beter is veel beter dan hier beneden ons leven is we zullen nooit vergeten hoeveel je voor ons deed

voor wat jij betekende was er geen pen die het schreef

en ik kan het wel rappen maar de woorden zijn zoek

de woorden zijn zoek dus ik zoek en ik vloek

en soms kijk ik naar boven, en dan vraag ik me af

is er een leven in de hemel of stil in je graf

is er daar iemand die voor jou zal zorgen

is er een dag en een nacht en heeft een morgen een morgen

is het er donker of licht, is het daar koud of warm

misschien is er niets, zonder jou zijn we arm

zonder jou hier beneden ken ik sombere tijden

vandaar dat ik deze tekst voor je wilde schrijven

1 familie zo hecht dat we samen aten,

samen aan tafel zaten, laat op zaterdagavond,

voor de buis thuis, gezellig samen waren,

nu pas besef ik het, toen was ik veel te jong,

en dacht ik veel aan mezelf omdat verdriet niet bestond

ja nu zie ik het, ik was een egoïst

omdat ik de helft van wat ik nu weet toen niet wist,

het was een harde les, een veel te harde les,

maar of het goed voor me was dat kan ik niet zeggen.

Nu ben ik volwassen ik heb m’n eigen huis

een toekomst en een eigen thuis

en als iemand me vraagt hoe het nou gaat,

dan zeg ik goed, ennuh da’s een goede vraag

maar het verdriet blijft, net als de rouw.

Ik zou m’n eigen leven gegeven hebben voor jou.
