I’ve been here just lying in the basement

Keeping my head up and my eyes closed

I forget what I was erasing

I guess I don’t need to know

The days will take their toll if you let them

And we’ll always keep coming back for more

They put us in our place just like an old friend

Who knows who we were before

You know it’s just too much to bear

Is there anyone out there

I want to love someone but if it’s not you I don’t care

Cause it’s just to much, just too much to bear

My window fills with infinite colors

If only I could move them under my brush

I don’t know why I’d even bother

They’d all bleed into one

Pieces of the sky (I won’t invite)

Water from your eyes (I'll let it lie)

Fires that won’t light

Without you

I had your hopes

I had your faults

I had your fears

To try to calm

I had your eyes

To guide along

Out of the dark

Now that they’re gone…
