Ik hoor het door de wandelgangen

Jouw handen verlicht de pijn

Alles wat je ziet, is ik

Maar jij bent wat ik niet bereik

Alles wat ik zie, is licht

En dus wat ik mis

Haal de trek van m’n schouders of we blijven alleen

Kan ook niet anders, ik kijk om me heen

Zie alles verbranden en ik rijd er doorheen

Ben j daar?

Ik kan niets zien

In de kou

Ik zie niets meer en ik kan niet tegenstaan in de kou

Ik ben alleen hier

Soms denk ik: «Ik ben m’n doel verloren»

Maar wil niet leven alsof dingen bij het toeval horen

Ik buig voor «Hem» aan wie we toebehoren

Maar twijfel net zo goed even voor de goede orde

Ik ben heel mijn leven op zoek naar woorden

Vele donkere gedachtes gaan gevoelens worden

Dan voel ik golven van angsten die overvloedig worden

Maar dreig ik te stranden;

zijn die lessen als een oever voor me

Onthoud ze, ik mag niet meer verdwalen

M’n gedachtes komen als hinderlagen

Ik laat ze toe, als m’n kindjes slapen

Want zonder hen ben ik minderwaardig

Mijn wijze van redeneren, die is gevaarlijk

Jij wilt mij niet, ik ben flink beschadigd

Soms voel ik dat je boven me staat

Soms mis ik connectie, lijkt alsof ik «zomaar» besta

Toch toon ik intenties, ik wil ergens voor staan

Wil je op tuinen kunnen zien en één enkele zaad

Want dat wil ik, als ik mezelf verlies

Voel mij niet rijker, als ik geld verdien

Die wereldse dingen helpen niet

Ik herken geluk, want ik ken verdriet

Ik hou van jou, maar ik ken je niet

En ik mis je zelfs erg diep

Ik weet groeien gaat niet om cijfertjes

Groeien is veel pijnlijker

Heb geleden toen ik ging twijfelen

Dus ik weet het, 't is mijn eigen schuld
