Auch wenn wir fest steh’n

Trauer macht uns müde

Des Weges, den wir geh’n

Trauer färbt den Himmel

Nimmt die Farben fort

Lähmt das Herz im Körper

Erträgt wie er verdorrt

Zum Letzten mal streckt sich der Atem

Zu den Füssen der Kultur

Um gemeinsam einzustimmen

Das Monument zerbricht in Dur

Alles lag in meinen Händen

Wird’s in der Geschichte heissen

Jeden Willen liess ich enden

Um zum Firmament zu reisen

Jeder Muskel um den Knochen

Hat mit dieser Welt gebrochen

Alle Teilchen stehen still

Weil das Schauspiel Bild sein will

Tiefe legt sich ins Gemälde

Als ich von der Leinwand schwebe

Mich als Licht geword’ner Stern

Mit dem Firmament verwebe

Die Welt endet hier

Das Monument bricht

Sie endet Dank dir

Im Zweifel durch mich

Die Welt geht heute Nacht

Das Monument fällt

In leuchtender Pracht

Versteinert die Welt

Sorrow breathes tears
