The night that the power went out

Stumbling through drawers for a flashlight

White in the match for a second or two

Burning my finger with wax on my shoe

Flying around like bat in a zoo

It’s a view that we won’t ever see

And I was the sleeve of your coat

A maraca without any insides

A silent garden of carrots and peas

Listening into the sound of the breeze

Patiently waiting for someone to leave

With the sleeve on the coat rack downstairs
