В бамбуковом дворце

Сидит король на троне

С печалью на лице.

Король Бум-бум IV

У ног Бум-бума спит,

А перед ним девица

Прекрасная стоит.

Сидит Бум-бум томится

От дум извёлся весь:

Жениться на девице

Иль с манго её съесть.

Девица с белой кожей —

Невинная душа

И быть женою может,

И с манго хороша.

и улыбнувшись криво,

И став весёлым вдруг,

Свою альтернативу

Он произносит вслух.

Он говорит, что очень

Хороший выход есть:

Жениться этой ночью,

А на рассвете съесть.

Но тут померкло солнце,

Нарушив зверский план.

И вот земля трясётся,

И лаву льёт вулкан.

Кто молится, кто плачет:

Бамбуковый дворец.

Но пленница-девица

Находчивой была,

Обвив руками львицу,

Из пламени ушла.

И в тот же миг на троне,

Устав от тяжких дум…

В бамбуковой короне

Сгорел король Бум-бум…
