Waarom roepen mensen, mag zeggen wat je wil

Als de gemeenschap iets verteld maar tegen mijn wil

Er worden ons leugens verteld door de media

Dat is niet goed, das waar mijn voet voor staat

We worden geïndoctrineerd is het propaganda?

Dat is iets wat de media ons niet verteld ja

Lees ik niet in de krant of zie ik niet op tv

Daardoor weet ik het natuurlijk niet zeker nee

Waarom horen we slechts één kant van ‘t verhaal

Dat maakt een leugen helemaal hard als staal

We leven in vrijheid mag toch zeggen wat ik wil

Democratie maakt dus echt wel dat verschil

Maar is die vrijheid niet waar we voor vrezen

En moeten we iets meer naar de waarheid streven

Zelf beslissen niet meegaan in de groep

Zelf bepalen of je er iets tegen wilt doen

Hou je ogen open, trek je mond open

Hou je oren open en luister goed

Begrijp me niet verkeerd, het is echt niet dat ik ze haat

Maar ik heb een eigen gedachte, en zeg graag waar het op staat

Dat is waarom ik mezelf uitlaat over mijn eigen daad

En het niet laat als het nu onze gemeenschap schaadt

Waarom horen we van slechte mensen alleen de slechte dingen

Snap het niet, zijn zij het dan echt niet waard om voor te springen

Het is niet dat ik alle mensen mijn eigen gedachte wil opdringen

Maar dat ze weten dat ik niet alles zomaar zou verzinnen

We boycotten landen omdat hun leider slecht is

Goede dingen die ze doen is niet waar je vanaf wist

Daar erger ik me aan, dat wil ik dus vertellen

Voor jezelf spreken en voor jezelf denken

Hou je ogen open en laat je niet verleiden

Naar mooie dingen die alles je doen je te verblijden

Hou je oren open maar sluit ze soms

Als ze iets vertellen, waaraan getwijfeld wordt

Hou je ogen open, trek je mond open

Hou je oren open en luister goed

Moraal van het verhaal, geloof niet alles wat er gezegd wordt

Schuil niet voor de waarheid, je zult zien dat het wordt opgekropt

Je zocht geen leugens, daarvoor heb je niks opgezocht

Daardoor verspreid je leugens word je straks zelf gestopt

Hou je ogen open, trek je mond open

Why do people shout, say what you want

If the community says something but against my will

We are being told lies by the media

That's not good, that's what my foot stands for

We are being indoctrinated is it propaganda?

That is something the media does not tell us, yes

I do not read in the newspaper or see on TV

So of course I'm not sure, no

Why do we only hear one side of the story

That makes a lie as hard as steel

We live in freedom, I can say what I want

Democracy really does make that difference

But isn't that freedom what we fear?

And we should strive a little more for the truth

Make your own decisions, do not go along with the group

Decide for yourself whether you want to do something about it

Keep your eyes open, open your mouth

Don't get me wrong, it's really not that I hate them

But I have a thought of my own, and I'd like to tell it like it is

That is why I express myself about my own act

And don't let it happen if it harms our community now

Why do we only hear the bad things from bad people

Don't get it, are they really not worth jumping for?

It is not that I want to force my own thoughts on all people

But that they know that I wouldn't just make everything up

We boycott countries because their leader is bad

Good things they do is not what you knew about

That irritates me, so I want to tell you

Speak for yourself and think for yourself

To beautiful things that do everything to make you happy

Keep your ears open but sometimes close them

If they tell you something that is doubted

Don't hide from the truth, you will see it bottled up

You did not look for lies, you did not look for anything for that

As a result, you spread lies and you will soon be stopped yourself
