Llego un fuereño a Camargo

Al paso de su montura

Traía en su mente un encargo

Y en su mirada amargura

Pensaba que aquel poblado

Era el fin de su aventura

El pueblo estaba de fiesta

Pues se casaba Petrita

Las campanas de la iglesia

Sonaron para la misa

Los rostros de la pareja

Se iluminaban de risa

Petrita dice a su amado

Al entrar en la parroquia

De este recinto sagrado saldré feliz y dichosa

Cuando ya estemos casados

Seré tu amante y tu esposa

Con un disparo de máuser

Se oyó la voz del fuereño

Aquí estoy para matarte

Antes que logres tu empeño

Con nadie podrás casarte
