Du trachtest nach dem, was du nicht hast

Weil du glaubst, es wird dich bereichern

Dabei vergisst du deinen schönen Besitz schon fast

Zu alt er ist, und Drang neuer Illusion wird zerr’n

Mehr Geld und mehr Ruhm

anderer Mann, andere Frau

Materielles Denken lenkt dein Tun

Herrschende Wärme verliert sich im neuen Traum

Doch erst, wenn du hast gewonnen das Neue

Du wirst schätzend trauern über's Verlorene

Der Einsichtige lernt und bedauert das Teure

Dem Klugen blendet’s nicht, gab nicht auf die eigenen Tore

So ist es im Diesseits.»

Gelb ist das Geld

Und Gelb ist dein Neid

Doch dunkel ist dein Leben mit jener schrecklichen Tracht

Sie lässt Wärme schwinden und Schätze vergilben

Wenn du liebst, was du hast, besitzt du wahre Macht

Hüte diese Macht und erfülltes Leben wird sich bilden
