Never Really Alone -

Getting better at not getting in my own way

You always said that’d be the death of me

Trying harder and remembering there’s a beauty in the way

That things don’t stay the same

My patience is wearing thin

With everything I surrounded myself with

I’m a jealous anxious mess, it’s no excuse

Just me coming to terms with myself

That’s just the way I am

Don’t expect a change any time soon

Cause it took nineteen years

Just to feel okay in my own shoes

And I still have regrets

It’s something I can’t go back to fix

But I’ll keep pressing on

And hope to God that this is forward progress

And these telescopes won’t tell me where to go

The leaves are changing fast

And I can feel a cold front moving in

This year has burned a hole in me and everybody

I watched most of my friends give up and walk away

Deep breath, kid, you’re doing just fine

Keep your feet on the ground and just open your eyes

You’ll find it’s not as bad as you’d think

You’re too young to be this angry

That’s just the way I am
