We have been searching into our existence

For what we had shunned

But it was too dim to find in the trench

The embers vanquished

We could not mine any further into our hearts

All we could find was the harsh truth through the black sludge

We discovered that the roots of the tree of life decaying

Our despair grew so much that we craved death

The suffering was long enough that we shunned enlightenment
