Acres Upon Acres - Deloris

She stands on her left side

And it’s great

But it’s not her right

She used to say I was her king

As she kissed my brow

She taught me so many things

But of course they’re useless now

She shakes with her left hand

To unfamiliarise

She holds her drink up to her mouth

To hide familiar eyes

And I can tell by her neck line

That I’ve known this before

And I recall as she slips away

I shouldn’t think these things anymore

She’s wearing black and off black for the winter

She’s got nothing but her car

And my circles of metal

Around her fingers
