You couldn’t stand under the weight I put on you

I understand, now it is true

I can see that there was nothing you could do

With a sorrow so loud

If I could I’d open up and let you in

But the door has no handles and

It would seem that I by now have worn you thin

My heart is so hard

The sorrow’s too loud

I only wish that you would return home to me

And I could bathe in your familiarity

But I realize this is a hopeless dream

We have traveled too far

I also wish that I might never read again

The same narrative under a different pen

But I fear this is a circle I am in
