De Wrat -

In Valkenburg daar is een reus

Die had ineens voorop z’n neus

Precies waar eerst het puntje zat

Een kanjer van een wrat

't Is waar, zo’n wrat is geen gezicht

Dus deed de reus de deuren dicht

De Valkenburgse reuzengrot

Ging dadelijk op slot

Op slot?

Die grot die ging op slot

Benoemde snel een comit

Dat vroeg toen in het avondblad

Wie weet wat voor een wrat

En sinds dat daar heeft ingestaan

Is steeds de telefoon gegaan

En jaagde de chirurg uit Vught

Toen brullend op de vlucht

Men heeft toen snel bericht gestuurd

Aan 't kruidenvrouwtje in de buurt

Die maakte toen een kruidendrank

Je stikte van de stank

De stank?

De drank!

De reus kreeg stank voor dank

Maar kruidendrank of levertraan

De wrat trok zich er niets van aan

Die glimt en glanst nog glorieus

Daar boven op die neus

De reus heeft zich er zogezegd

Voorlopig maar bij neergelegd

De wrat is daar vanzelf ontstaan

En zal ook wel weer gaan

Zal gaan?

Ja gaan!

Die zal spontaan weer gaan

Vandaar dat nu vanavond laat

De reuzengrot weer open gaat

En wat het hooggeerd publiek

Daar ziet, dat is uniek

De laatste reus van Nederland

Met heel z’n neus in drukverband

En als gebaar van 't comit

Voor kind’ren vrij entree
