The old church bell rings

And starlings flap their wings

Against the sun

I’m running through

The dirty streets

Looking back, I turn

To shoot my gun

I almost made it

To the getaway car

But it was just one step too far

So I’m left here

With a pack of wolves

Trying to explain

What just went down

I was mentioning Robin Hood

He’s not known in the

Neighbourhood or town

And when I talked about

Little John in the bar

That’s when I think I went

I saw my life flash in front of me

Later in the prison cell

I’m so happy to be there

I don’t mind they took my clothes

Broke my nose, and cut my hair

But as I’m holding on to this iron bar

I’m wondering, did I take one step too far?
