J’ai grandi sur la plaine, je connais ses rengaines et ses vents

J’ai les racines dans la plaine et toutes ses rengaines dans le sang

J’ai des racines en France aussi longues que la terre

J’ai une langue qui danse aussi bien que ma mère

Une grande famille des milliers de frères et sœurs dans le temps

J’ai des racines en France aussi fortes que la mer

Une langue qui pense, une langue belle et fiere

Et des milliers de mots pour le dire comment je vis, qui je suis

Y a des soirs de plaine où on se sent seul sur la terre

Y a des nuits de plaine où y a trop d'étoiles, trop de lune, le ciel est trop

A language that thinks, a beautiful and proud language

And thousands of words to say how I live, who I am

There are plain evenings when you feel alone on earth

There are plain nights where there are too many stars, too many moons, the sky is too

clear

There are plain days where you can see beyond the earth

There are plain days when I no longer hear my mother's tongue

There are plain days when even my grandfathers are no longer in the wind
