The frothing sea, a mistress cold

Her wrath runs deep, eternally brooding

Old and restless in her sleep

Awakens now as solid land shudders at its core

Some tell how, by nature’s hand, mankind could be no more

A wall as high as any rampart, fear as thick as fortress stones

Cowering in pathetic hiding

Tens of thousands die alone

Oh, morbid fascination, as I face a watery death

Edifice of living ocean defies the words of mortal breath

I see the breadth of terror, I see the depth of awe

I see our human wages all in the ocan’s maw

Onc realm of sharks and creeping things, anemones and eels

Expands the dark, the rippling rings undoing glass and steel

Uncharted force, a crushing blow, the deadliest caress
