Norn-Sømn-Sjur - D.D.E.

Vi har sursild og sylte, ribberull og fenalår

Postei og ansjos, spekepøls og mår

Og så ordne vi med langbord med juleduk og lys

Og så fyre vi i peisen så ingen sett å frys

Når vi har eti så gæli at vi nesten sprekk

Og’n far e surrat i haue av alt for my å drekk

Da blir det:

I huset heim hos oss

Mor og far må kvil sæ litt

Mens vi ungan driv å sloss

I huset der æ bor

E vi snill og ordentlig

Da blir pakkan ekstra stor

Og mat må vi ha både titt og ofte

Vi har mat over alt, i fra kjellar’n og te loftet

Og så blir vi så tørst, av alt det salte

At det e kø på do, og all går rundt og vralte

Når vi har gjort oss ferdig og all e god og bli

Da sjer vi det på'n pappa at no e det tid for:

Da blir pakkan ekstra stor

We have pickled herring and pickles, rib roll and fennel loin

Poached eggs and anchovies, bacon and marten

And then we arrange a long table with a Christmas cloth and candles

And then we fire in the fireplace so no one seems to freeze

When we are so excited that we almost burst

And a father is drunk in a pile of too much to drink

Then it becomes:

Mom and Dad need to drool a bit

While we the young drive to fight

In the house where I live

Are we kind and proper

Then the package becomes extra large

And we must have food both occasionally and often

We have food everywhere, from the basement to the attic

And then we get so thirsty, from all that salty stuff

That there's a queue at the bathroom, and everyone is walking around and waddling

When we have finished and all is well and good

Then we see it from a father that now is the time for:
