Naht auf tiefshwarzem Ross

Nie genannt, ohn' Furcht

Sein Anblick von Hoffnung bar

Kein Mensch, der je ihn besiegt

Doch verloren ist

Wer ihn bekriegt, wer ihm erliegt

No escape’s in sight

Impedable by human hand

Lots of places at one time

Riding through an endless night

Sein Schatten, ehern Nebel gleich

Legt sich nieder auf die Welt

Erbarmungslos reitet er

Durch die Zeit

Doch mancherorts ist er willkommen

Wird gar erwartet sein Geleit

Alle sind gleich, ob Bettler, ob König

Gibt nie zurück, was er einmal genommen

Dark dust on the horizon

A lone rider

Seam on deep black horse

Never mentioned, without fear

His sight bereft of hope

No place he's ever been banned

No man ever defeats him

But is lost

Who fights him, who succumbs to him

So he's riding through the night

His shadow, like iron fog

Lays down on the world

He rides without mercy

By the time

But in some places he is welcome

His escort is even expected

All are equal, whether beggar or king
