I was trying to quantify my worth by counting my accomplishments but,

I’ve come to think it’s not what you’ve done, but what you want from it.

But defeating me ain’t easy,

And it’s slow on the road ahead

and I’m yet to learn the way but,

I know that I’m blessed, and I’m going to go to lengths,

to respect and return the favour.

So when they’re telling me I’ll never get it, making like I never got it,

they gotta take a step back when I set it off,

fact is I never would have got pats on the back

for this rap shit if I hadn’t had lesson from,

all the small talk — running their mouth —

but say it ain’t foul if it ain’t on the ball court.
