One more drink before it’s closing time

You know I’ve never been one for these awkward goodbyes

I want to be the fly on the wall

Escape the crowd above it all

Fly into the cloudy sky, miles away and feeling so high

Tongue tied trying to come up with the lines to get my stories right

There’s no end in sight

So caught up in the parts we play

That we left no room for mistakes

Is it too late to just slip away?

I’m out of words and I don’t know what I know here anymore

One foot out the door, but I can’t say what I’m leaving for

One day I’ll find a way back town again

But for now, I’m that old friend you’ll see every now and then
