In a country churchyard there’s a preacher with his people

Gathered all around to join a man and woman

Spring is here and turtle doves are singing from the steeple

Bees are in the flowers, growing in the graveyard

And over the hill, where the river meets the mill

A lovely girl is coming down

Dressed in simple white and wearing flowers in her hair

Весна здесь, и горлицы поют со шпиля

Пчелы в цветах, растут на кладбище

И за холмом, где река встречается с мельницей

Прекрасная девушка спускается

Дать ей руку в день свадьбы

Одета в простое белое и с цветами в волосах

Музыка, когда она медленно идет к алтарю

И, взяв свою Библию, Проповедник поворачивается к ней.

«Возьмете ли вы этого мужчину в супруги?

Чтить и любить в глазах бога выше

Теперь пусть люди поют со мной

Много лет выпало на это золотое деревенское утро

Кладбище заросло, церковь лежит в руинах

Плющ на стенах и вороны кружатся надо мной

Когда я пробирался к последнему оставшемуся надгробию

Я слышал слова, похожие на пение на деревьях...
