The Crossing - Cathedral

Bring me down my father

To the place where I was born

My sword in hand to save this land

My body broke and torn

I’ve quenched my thirst for battle

I’ve now paid the price

Our hearts hold all the honors

But death now holds our eyes

So reads the stone

In an old wooded yard

This grave feeling that

I’ve been here before

Yet as moments pass

Satisfied at last

Memory serves to cast

Ease of movements flowing fast

In a shadow of a time that was

While in permafrost

All life forces lost

Was it worth the cost

Each birth being a divorce

From the soil that my stirring tossed

Tormented I died

Now eased by the truth inside

To rest with God my guide

My soul shall end its futal ride

Beside the cathedrals might

Shrill chill up my back

Fell deaths slow attack

Walk the beam, cross the track

Pain and fear is what I lack

My flame absorbed into the black

For I shall go no farther

In the faces I have worn

In-tere my hand and body banned

To walk this earth no more
