Raul Vremii -

Şi îngropând amintiri și dor;

Şi dulce-l amăgește să-i pară mai ușoară

Cumplită trecerea anilor

Pe râul vremii e-o luntre din inimi și gând închegată

Ce duhul rău n-o poate zdruncina;

În prova-mpietrită și cruntă, tăind prin râul vremii

Stă neclintită inima mea

Râu străvechi, râu străbun

Râu al vremii, prieten bun

River of Time

Tumultuous, its stream flows, carving in the heart of man

A burial chamber for memories and yearning

Sweetly it lures him into seeming relief

From stern burden of years past turning

On the river of life glides a ferry wrought from hearts and thought

That the evil spirit cannot hope to shake

At the grim petrified prow, parting the river of time

Unflinching, my heart stands awake

River of old, forefathering tide

The passing of the years is terrible
